PDO Thread Lift

If you’ve ever thought about getting face-lift surgery, chances are you’ve reviewed the risks, lengthy recovery time, and other downsides. At Omega Medical in Florham Park, New Jersey, aesthetics specialist Amit Chitalia, MD, offers polydioxanone (PDO) thread lifts as a nonsurgical alternative to enhance your appearance by alleviating sagging skin and deep folds. To find out more about PDO thread lifts and see if it’s a fitting addition to your treatment plan, call Omega Medical or book your consultation online today.

PDO Thread Lift Q & A

What is a PDO thread lift?

A non-surgical alternative to traditional facelifts, a PDO thread lift tightens your sagging skin or wrinkles.

During a PDO thread lift at Omega Medical, Dr. Chitalia and his team insert thin hollow needles called cannulas into different layers of your skin after local anesthesia kicks in to numb your face. A strong, hair-thin thread made of polydioxanone goes through the needle and anchors deep within your skin before Dr. Chitalia pulls the needle out.

With the threads in place, Dr. Chitalia can pull and tighten the sagging or wrinkled skin in these and other areas:

  • Eyebrows
  • Eye bags
  • Cheeks
  • Mouth
  • Jawline and jowls
  • Neck

Once your skin and tissues are tight, Dr. Chitalia cuts off the excess length from the threads. The threads remain under your skin and dissolve within about six months.

How long do the results of a PDO thread lift last?

Not only does a PDO thread manually lift your skin; it also stimulates structural collagen production. This makes your skin stronger, tighter, and more voluminous and allows for longer-lasting results.

You can expect the lifting effect to last for three to six months, but the effects of the collagen production could last months longer. If you like your results, you may book maintenance PDO thread lifts in the future.

What are the benefits of getting a PDO thread lift?

A PDO thread lift has many advantages over other treatments, especially when compared to face-lift surgery. The benefits of PDO thread lifts include:

  • A quick, 15-30 minute procedure
  • Fast recovery
  • Few risks and complications
  • Immediate results
  • Affordability

Unlike any other minimally invasive treatment, PDO thread lifts offer results comparable to surgical face-lifts. You’ll see dramatic but natural-looking results with minimal risk and recovery time.

Am I a good candidate for a PDO thread lift?

You might be an ideal candidate for a PDO thread lift if you:

  • Are you between your late 30s and early 50s
  • Live a busy lifestyle
  • Dislike your aging appearance
  • Have realistic expectations
  • Are in generally good health
  • Want to avoid surgery

Dr. Chitalia asks you many questions about your medical history and your goals for treatment during a thorough initial consultation to make sure the procedure is an appropriate option for you.

If you’ve thought about getting a face-lift but hesitated due to the possible complications, call Omega Medical or request a consultation appointment online for a PDO thread lift today.
